Sponsored by: Siemmski Introduction Date: October 14 1996 Public Hearing Date: = CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA ORDINANCE NO. 96-30 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, EXEMPTING CITY-SUPPLIED PUBLIC UTILITY SERVICES AND HEATING OIL FROM CITY SALES TAX WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to exempt certain necessary services and goods from the City's sales tax code; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA HEREBY ORDAINS that: Section 1. Seward City Code S5.35.040 is hereby amended by adding new Subsections 15 and 16 to read as follows: 5.35.040 Exclusions and exemptions "Retail sale. " "sale at retail"' or "sale" does not include: 1. 15. Uti lity services provided by the City of Seward (electric, water and sewer) 16. Petroleum products used for heating a dwelling or other structure Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment.
