HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes2003-101 Sponsored by: Clerk I CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION 2003-101 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING INTRODUCTION PAGE ii OF THE CITY COUNCIL RULES OF PROCEDURES, RELATING TO A CHANGE IN THE REGULAR MEETING DAY OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission regular meetings are established in Seward City Code 2.30.220; and WHEREAS, at it's February 2, 2000 meeting, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended city council approve an ordinance changing the Commission's regular meeting day to the first Tuesday of the month; and WHEREAS, on February 28,2000, the Seward City Council enacted Ordinance 2000-05 (attached) amending Seward City Code 2.30.220(a) to read "Tuesday" instead of "Wednesday"; and I WHEREAS, a resolution to update this portion of the Council Rules of Procedure had not been completed; and WHEREAS, this resolution enables consistency between our Seward City Code and the Council Rules of Procedures, and thus, changes the language to match the code; and WHEREAS, the Council wishes to amend the first paragraph of the introduction page ii of the City Council Rules of Procedure to appear as follows (strike Olft = deletions, bold italics = additions): The Planning and Zoning Commission meets on the first Wednesday Tuesday of each month. All commission members must live within the City of Seward. The Council liaison to the commission attends the meetings and makes regular reports to the Council regarding issues before the commission. The Council also meets in an annual joint work session with the commission in March to address areas of mutual concern. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA that: Section 1. The Seward City Council amends the first paragraph of the introduction page ii ofthe City Council Rules of Procedure to appear as follows: I CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION 2003-101 The Planning and Zoning Commission meets on the first Tuesday of each month. BACKGROUND & JUSTIFICATION: On 2/28/2000, Seward City Council enacted Ordinance 2000-05 amending SCC 2.30.220(a) which approved a change in the Planning and Zoning Commissions regular ’ meeting day to the first Tuesday of the month.
