CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION 2002-008
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT WITH HERTZ RENT A CAR TO PURCHASE A USED
2000 FORD ECONOLINE E350 SUPER DUTY EXTENDED 15
PASSENGER VAN FOR $17,500.
WHEREAS, the City of Seward vehicle fleet desires to provide safe and
mechanically sound vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the Seward Teen and Youth Center and the City Administration are
in need of a reliable 15 Passenger Van; and
WHEREAS, Hertz Rental Car (Seward Office) has available for sale a 2000 Ford
Econoline E350 for the sum of$17,500; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to purchase a quality vehicle locally, for a
reasonable price; and

WHEREAS, City Code 6.10.125 allows for an exemption from competItIve
procurement procedures for the purchase of used equipment when in the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The city Manager is authorized to purchase one used 2000 ford
Econoline E-350 15 Passenger Van from Hertz Rental Car for sum of$17,500 from the
Motor Pool Fund.
Section 2. Funds in the amount of $17,500 shall be appropriated from the Motor
Pool Fund interest earnings to account 102-1020-5930.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska,
this 14th day of January, 2002.
