RESOLUTION 99-004
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE ANEW
LIFT STATION AT A COST OF $13,247 FROM ALASKA PUMP & SUPPLY,
INC., AND ACCEPTING $11,476.04 IN INSURANCE RECOVERY PRO-
CEEDS
WHEREAS, on October 25, 1998, number 1 Lift Station at the north end ofthe Small Boat
Harbor experienced a pump failure; and
WHEREAS, the City received repair quotes from Alaska Pump and Supply, Inc. and from
Alyeska Pump and Equipment; and
WHEREAS, the lowest repair quote is from Alaska Pump and Supply in the amount of
$12,476.04; and
WHEREAS, the cost for a direct replacement pump is only an additional $770; and
WHEREAS, the insurance company will pay the cost of repair, less a $1,000 deductible,
which means the City can purchase a brand new replacement pump for only $1;771;.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council authorizes the City Manager to purchase a new lift station pump
at a cost of $13,247.00 from Alaska Pump and Supply and accepting $11;476:04 in insurance
recovery proceeds to account 701-71205371, and appropriating this same amount to the Sewage
Collection equipment account 701-7700-5930.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe city of Seward, Alaska, this 11 day
ofJanuary,1999.
