CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
ORDINANCE NO. 97-07
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN DESIGNATION OF
CERT AIN PROPERTY ALONG FIRST AND SECOND AVENUE AND
LOWELL CANYON ROAD FROM URBAN RESIDENTIAL TO TWO
F AMIL Y RESIDENTIAL
WHEREAS, a citizen petition was submitted by Alex Rule and Elsie Whitmore to amend
the Land Use Plan designation of Single Family Residential property along First and Second Avenue
and Lowell Canyon Road from Urban Residential to Single Family Residential; and
WHEREAS, on January 10, 1997, the Planning and Zoning Commission held a public
hearing on the requested Land Use Plan amendments in accordance with the provisions of Seward
City Code SI5.01.040; and
WHEREAS, the Commission reviewed the petition application and recommended the Land
Use Plan amendments set forth in this ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Section 1. The Official Seward Land Use Plan Map is hereby amended by changing the
Land Use Plan designation of the following property from Urban Residential (UR) to Two Family
Residential (R2):
Lots 7-10 and 24A-32, Marathon Addition
Parcels 148-03-07 and 147-13-11
El/2 of Block 12, Original Townsite of Seward
Blocks 13,26,27 and 40, Original Townsite of Seward
Wl/2 of Blocks 11, 14,25,28 and 39, Original Townsite of Seward
Block 5, Federal Addition
Wl/2 of Blocks 4, 7, 14, 17 and 21, Federal Addition
Wl/2 of Block 2, Oceanview Subdivision
Ambulance Replat, Oceanview Subdivision
Section 2. The attached map identifying the parcels affected by the Land Use Plan
amendment is incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment.
