I I Sponsored by: Janke CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION 99-009 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS TO LEASE BOARDWALK SITE NUMBER SIX, OCEANVIEW SUBDIVISION. WHEREAS, the City of Seward has given a free lease of Boardwalk Site number six to the Resurrection Bay Lions Club; and WHEREAS, this lease is at the end of its term; and WHEREAS, the Draft Strategic Plan, the Small Boat Harbor Management Plan and the Municipal Lands Management Plan provide for maximum commercial development of available lands consistent with public policy; and WHEREAS, the highest and best use ofthis valuable waterfront property is to be available for commercial development; and WHEREAS, with a long term lease and commercial development, the City will receive lease and tax revenue from this site; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby directed to issue a Request 'for Ptopos~l. for Boardwalk Lease Site number six, Oceanview Subdivision. ' Section 2. Conditions ofthe potential lease will include, but is not limited to, provisions for providing suitable facilities for a seasonal bait shack and for reimbursing the various funds for utility and boardwalk upgrades. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe city of Seward, Alaska, this 22 day of February, 1999.
