RESOLUTION 99-022
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF THREE SURPLUS DUMP
TRUCKS FROM THE STATE OF ALASKA FOR $25,000 EACH
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska has three surplus dump trucks in good condition which they
are selling for $25,000 each; and
WHEREAS, the opportunity to purchase these trucks is limited since other communities also
want to purchase them; and
WHEREAS, our current fleet of five dump trucks has two units which are most in need of
replacement, a 1971 International with over 10,000 hours, and a 1978 Chevy with over 28,843 miles
and about 8,000 hours of operation; and .
WHEREAS, these two trucks can be sold for between $3,000 and $5,000 each to offset the
cost of purchase; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIl'Y
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to approve a purchase order in the amount of
$75,000 to purchase three surplus dump trucks from the State of Alaska, with funding from the
General Fund fund balance.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.

PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe city of Seward, Alaska, this 8 day
of March, 1999.
