RESOLUTION NO. 99-031
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE FY 1999 LEGAL
BUDGET AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, with the billings through February 20, 1999 (66.7% of FY 99), the
General Fund legal is at 100.7 % of budget, the Parking Revenue Fund is at 99.0 % of budget,
the Harbor Fund is at 81.8% of budget, the Electric Fund is at 107.6% of budget and the
Water/Sewer Fund is at 0.0% of budget; and
WHEREAS, overall, legal expenditures through February 20, 1999 total $150,819 and
is at 94.9 % of the FY 99 overall legal budget; and
WHEREAS, The General Fund legal is over budget by $711 and the Electric
Enterprise Fund legal is over budget by $381; and
WHEREAS, the legal budgets were reduced in FY 99 based on FY.98activity levels;
and
WHEREAS, higher legal activity in both the General Fund and the Electric Enterprise
Fund have occurred during FY 99; and .
WHEREAS, there is not enough monies within the revised ftY:99 budget for the
additional legal fees; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that Council appropriate the additional monies to the
FY 99 budget for legal fees in the General Fund and the Electric Enterprise Fund;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of $50,000 be appropriated from the General Fund fund balance,
account no. 101-0000-3050 to the General Fund Legal, account no. 101-1115-5170 and the
sum of $10,000 be appropriated from the Electric Enterprise Fund retained earnings, account
no. 501-0000-3050 to Electric General Operating Expenses, Legal, account no. 501-5400-
5170.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
22nd day of March, 1999.
