RESOLUTION 99-113
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE A
LEASE AGREEMENT WITH DAN LOWRY FOR A PORTION OF LOT 2,
BLOCK 3, FOURTH OF JULY CREEK SUBDMSION, SEWARD MARINE
INDUSTRIAL CENTER FOR THE PURPOSES OF OPERATING A MARINE
REPAIR BUSINESS
WHEREAS, Dan Lowry has proposed a lease agreement with the City of Seward for a
portion of a tract of land in Block 3, Fourth of July Creek Subdivision, Seward Marine Industrial
Center for the purposes of operating a marine repair business; and
WHEREAS, the proposal came before the Planning and Zoning Commission at their August
4, 1999 regular meeting and the Commission recommended unanimously to proceed with the lease
negotiations; and
WHEREAS, the Commission recommended a lease term of three to five years for Lot 2,
Block 3 and a baseline soils condition test; and
WHEREAS, the proposed use is consistent with the Seward Marine Industrial Center
Development Plan, the City's Comprehensive Development Plan and Strategic Plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate a lease agreement with Dan
Lowry for a portion of Lot 2, Block 3, Fourth of July Creek Subdivision, Seward Marine Industrial
Center, for a term ofthree (3) years with the option to extend for three additional one year terms..
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately after its adoption.
