CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 92-008
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE NEGOTIATED
DISPOSAL OF LOTS 11-13, BLOCK 8, CLIFF ADDITION,
TO JURIS MINDENBERGS IN RETURN FOR A CERTAIN RIGHT
OF WAY EASEMENT WITHIN CLIFF ADDITION REPLA T NO.1
WHEREAS, the city of Seward (City) is the owner of Lots 11-13, Block 8, Cliff
Addition, and Mr. Juris Mindenbergs (Mindenbergs) is the owner of Cliff Addition Replat
No. 1 (Plat No. 79-25)i and
WHEREAS, except for that portion along the east end of said lots that are a part
of Chamberlain Road (formerly Government Road), City has no other need for Lots 11-13,
Block 8, Cliff Additioni and
WHEREAS, Mindenbergs wishes to acquire Lots 11-13, Block 8, Cliff Addition, in
order to add land area to a proposed subdivision within Cliff Addition Replat No. Ii and
WHEREAS, City wishes to acquire 20 feet along the westerly edge of Cliff
Addition Replat No.1 to widen the existing alley right of way into a 40 foot street right
of waYi and
WHEREAS, this proposed trade of land is mutually beneficia Ii
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Land Trade Agreement, attached and incorporated herein by
reference, between the city of Seward and Juris Mindenbergs, is hereby approved, and
the City Manager is authorized to execute the appropriate deeds and easements on behalf
of the city.
Section 2. It is in the public interest to waive appraisal of the subject property and
to dispose of the property by negotiation.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect 30 days after passage and posting as
required by law.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
27th day of January, 1992.
