CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 92-018 SUBSTITUTE
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION
OF PHASE 1-A OF THE 115 KV TRANSMISSION LINE PROJECT TO
NORCON, INC.
WHEREAS, the city formally advertised for bids from pre-qualified bidders for
construction of Phase I-A of the 115 KV transmission line project on December 19, 1992;
and
WHEREAS, three responsive bids were received and opened on January 29,1992;
with NORCON, INC. submitting the low bid of $1,465.822.67; and
WHEREAS, consulting engineers Dryden & Larue reviewed the bids and
recommended award of the contract to NORCON, INC; and
WHEREAS, funding is available within the Transmission Line Project Budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract with
NORCON, INC., to construct phase I-A of the 115 KV transmission line project for a toal
contract price of $1,465,822.67 plus a contingency of $112,435 for a total project cost of not
to exceed 1,578,257.67.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
10th day of February, 1992.
