CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 92-020
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO.1 TO THE
METCO CONTRACT FOR SNOW REMOVAL AND SANDING SERVICES.
WHEREAS, a contract was awarded to METCO, Inc. for an amount not to exceed
$20,000 to perform snow plowing and sanding of Nash Road, and
WHEREAS, the 1991/92 winter season has experienced an unusually high record
of snow fall and icing conditionsj and
WHEREAS, in order to maintain Nash Road in a reasonable, safe manner for
traffic to travel to the Spring Creek Correctional Center and ship repair facilities at the
SMIC, Metco has had to perform more work than was budgeted in the current contractj
and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds still remain in the Street Department Budget to cover
this additional expense.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to issue Change Order No.1 increasing
the amount of the contract with Metco by $10,000, for snow removal and sanding
services, for a total contract amount not to exceed $30,000.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
10th day of February, 1992.
