RESOLUTION 2001-010
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PAY ALPINE
DRILLING & ENTERPRISES $10,791.00 FOR REPAIRS TO WELL
NUMBER 5
WHEREAS, Well Number 5 experienced a pump motor failure on October 27th, 2000; and,
WHEREAS, this failure was not budgeted for in the 2000 budget; and,
WHEREAS, the failure of this well created a potential threat to the health and safety of the
residents of the City of Seward; and,
WHEREAS, due to the emergency nature ofthis failure, Alpine Drilling & Enterprises was
contacted and requested to make immediate repairs to restore Well Number 5 to operational status;
and,
WHEREAS, Alpine was able to complete repairs and restore the well tCl normal operation
at a cost of$10,791.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to pay Alpine Drilling & Enterprise $10,791.00
for repairs to Well Number 5 pump motor.
Section 2. Money is available in account 701-7400-5380.
Section 3. This resolution is retroactive to December 29,2000.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 22nd
day ofJanuary, 2001.
