RESOLUTION 99-125
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING THE EXTENSION OF A USE AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE ALASKA VOCATIONAL TECHNI-
CAL CENTER, AND ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM A VTEC IN THE
AMOUNT OF $50,800 AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the Student Services Center facility provides a viable recreation site for the
public in a variety of programs including: roller skating, youth basketball leagues, youth and adult
open gym, adult basketball, wallyball, volleyball and racquetball leagues and programs, weight
lifting, aerobics and other special programs; and
WHEREAS, the City Parks and Recreation Department has been negotiating with the Alaska
Vocational Technical Center to provide public use at the A VTEC Student Services Center; and
WHEREAS, the A VTEC student population, families of students, staff and faculty of
A VTEC and their families also benefit from various programs offered through the SCC; and
WHEREAS, A VTEC will provide a grant in the amount of $50,800 to fund a Recreation
Specialist, snack room aides and operating supplies; and
WHEREAS, the FY6-Month budget approved by the City Council reflects the program
hours, rental rates and projected uses set forth in the proposed new Use Agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Use Agreement between the City of Seward and the Alaska Vocational
Technical Center through December 31, 2000 is hereby APPROVED.
Section 2. Grant funds totaling $50,800 are hereby accepted from the State of Alaska -
Alaska Vocational Technical Center.
Section 3. The sum of $50,800 is hereby appropriated from the Parks & Recreation
Grants Account No. 101-4470-0130, and the total sum of $50,800' is appropriated to Parks &
Recreation Expenditures Account No. 101-1420-XXXX as follows:

Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
