RESOLUTION 2001-068
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF mE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT WITH STORM CHASERS, INCORPORATED TO
COMPLETE mE SMALL BOAT HARBOR FISH CLEANING STATIONS
FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $138,147.43 FOR mE BASE BID
AND $25,725 FOR A POTABLE WATER SYSTEM, PLUS A 20%
INCENTIVE TO HAVE mESE PORTIONS OF mE PROJECT
COMPLETED BY JULY 15, AND AWARDING THE ELECTRICAL POWER
& LIGHTING SYSTEM ALTERNATIVE IN mE AMOUNT OF $23,100
WHEREAS; bids for the completion of two fish cleaning stations were received and opened
on May 10, 2001; and,
WHEREAS, there were three bidders; Stonn Chasers, Incorporated, Blazy Construction and
Swalling Construction Company, Incorporated; and,
WHEREAS, the apparent low bidder at opening was Stonn Chasers, Incorporated; and,
WHEREAS, staff and Tryck Nyman Hayes, Incorporated (TNH) reviewed this bid for
responsiveness and responsibility and the bid was found to be both responsive and responsible; and,
WHEREAS, TNH and staff recommend award of the fish station completion contract to
Stonn Chasers, Incorporated for an amount not to exceed $138,147.43.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section L The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Stonn Chasers,
Incorporated for completion of the two fish cleaning stations for an amount not to exceed
$13 8,147.43, funded from the Small Boat Harbor Repair and Renovation Capital Project 315
Account, and authorizing $25,725 for a Potable Water System, plus a 20% incentive to have these
portions of the project completed by July 15, 2001, with funding in the amount of $58,499.48
appropriated from the Harbor Enterprise Fund retained earnings account number 401-0000-3050 to
the Small Boat Harbor Repair and Renovation Capital Project transfers in account number 315-0000-
3070-0000.
Section 2. The City Manger is authorized to award Stonn Chasers, Incorporated the
Electrical Power and Lighting System Alternative in the amount of $23,100 and appropriates $23,100
from the Harbor Enterprise Fund retained earnings account number 401-0000-3050 to the

Small Boat Harbor Repair and Renovation Capital Project transfers in account number 315-0000-
3070-0000.
Section 3. The budget as attached is hereby approved and incorporated herein by reference.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 29th day
of May 2001.
