RESOLUTION NO. 99-132
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT WITH STRUSSER ELECTRIC COMPANY TO SUPPLY
POLES, FIXTURES AND ARMS FOR TWENTY-FOUR LUMINAIRES TO
BE INSTALLED IN THE HARBOR AREA FORA TOTAL PRICE NOT-TO-
EXCEED $69,792
WHEREAS, a request for proposal was issued for twenty- four new luminaires to be installed
in the small boat harbor to provide adequate lighting for the area; and
WHEREAS, Strusser Electric Company has met all the requirements of the bid; and
WHEREAS, at the Harbormaster's request an addition was made to the project of Flat Lens
Luminaires to reduce the glare which bothers boats entering the Harbor at night for a total cost of
$69,792;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Strusser Electric
Company to supply poles, fixtures and arms for 24 luminaires to be installed in the Harbor for a total
price not-to-exceed $69,792.
Section 2. Funding to be from the Electric Department Retained Earnings Account 501-
0000-3050, to Account 501-5200-5930.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe City of Seward, Alaska, this 13 day
of September, 1999.
