RESOLU~ION NO. 79-13
A RESOLuTION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA DISPOSING OF THE
CITY'S INTEREST IN LOTS 10,11 bLOCK 17, FEDERAL ADDITION
WHEREAS, the City of Seward acquired title to Lots 10 and 11,
block 17, Federal Addition at sometime in 1940 and conveyed the lots to
Elizabeth S. Wood in 1941; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward in 1954 erroneously acquired the lots
described above by tax deed for real property taxes for the year 1938; and
WHEREAS, the interest taken by the City in 1954 by tax deed had
already been conveyed to Elizabeth S. Wood in 1941 by quitclaim deed by
the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby declares that the cloud on title
created by the erroneous 1954 tax deed should be removed immediately;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED fiY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, that,
Section 1. The City does hereby relinquish its interest in lots
10 and 11, Block 17, Federal Addition arising from the tax deed
of 1954 which was based on unpaid 1938 real property taxes on
such lots.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a
quitclaim deed conveying the City's interests in the lots acquired
by the 1954 tax deed as described above to Elizabeth S. Wood,
grantee under the quitclaim deed recorded on August 21, 1941.

ALASKA, this 27th day of March , 1979.
