RESOLUTION 99-144
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT WITH PILE CO., INC. TO PROVIDE AND INSTALL
TWENTY EIGHT INCH BY TWENTY FOOT PILES FORA TOTAL PRICE
NOT -TO-EXCEED $26,000.
WHEREAS, the Electrical Department is installing 24 lights on 20 poles along Fourth
Avenue and in the North and South Parking Lots in the Small Boat Harbor Area; and
WHEREAS, in order to install these lights it is necessary to drive piling to provide a
foundation for the 20 poles; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to have an International Brotherhood of Electrical Worker
(IBEW) signatory contractor drive this piling; and
WHEREAS, there is only one company in Alaska, Pile Co., Inc., certified to do this work
as an IBEW contractor; and
WHEREAS, The City has received a quote from Pile Co., Inc. to do this work for a total
price of $26,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Pile Co., Inc. to drive
20 piles as a foundation for lights in the Small Boat Harbor for a total cost of $26,000, including
mobilization and de-mobilization.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 11 th
day of October, 1999.
