CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 79-41
A RESOLUTION TO COMMIT THE $30,029 OF UNENCUMBERED FUNDS
AVAILABLE THROUGH THE STATE OF ALASKA, LOCAL SERVICE ROADS AND TRAILS PROGRAM,
FOR THE ROUTE RECONNAISSANCE OF A SECONDARY HIGHWAY
FROM NASH ROAD TO THE FOURTH OF JULY CREEK AREA
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska, Department of Transportation, has
committed assistance to the development of the Fourth of July Creek Industrial
Park; and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska, Department of Transportation, has
been unable at this date to make any contribution to this project; and
WHEREAS, the development schedule of the Fourth of July Creek
Industrial Park requires a roadway to be constructed by June 1980; and
WHEREAS, for a roadway to be constructed the following tasks must
be performed:
1. Route reconnaissance
2. Selection of best route (finalize)
3. Secure easements and rights-of-way
4. Preliminary design
5. Clearing
6. Final design (construction documents)
7. Bids and award contract
WHEREAS. due to the critical timing of the project and the importance
of the route reconnaissance in the overall schedule, above,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, that $30,029 of unencumbered Local Service Roads and Trails
Program funds allocated to the City of Seward be utilized for a route
reconnaissance of a secondary roadway from Nash Road to the Fourth of July
Creek area.
AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the State of Alaska, Department
of Transportation, is requested to make immediately available to the City of
Seward the $30,029 in unencumbered funds for the above-said purposes.
