RESOLUTION NO. 79-42

A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A
DEVELOPMENT GRANT FROM THE STATE OF ALASKA,
OF TRANSPORTATION AND PUBLIC FACILITIES
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska,Department of Transportation
and Public Facilities.has offered the City of Seward a Port
Facility . Development Grant, and
WHEREAS, this grant is for the purpose of assisting in
the development of a public port facility including an access
road in conjunction with the proposed shipyard and other industrial
development at Fourth of July Creek, and
WHEREAS, the City has the ability to finance the ten (10)
percent required local share of project costs, and
WHEREAS, the Seward City Council feels that it is in the
public interest to accept the State of Alaska. Department of
Transportation and Public Facilities, grant offer of $500,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to execute the necessary documents to accept
the grant in accordance with the requirements of
AS 30.15 and applicable Alaska Department of Transpor-
tation and Public Facilities regulations.
Section 2. This resolution shall become effective
immediately upon passage and adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, this 8th day of October, 1979.
