CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 79- 49
A RESOLUTION REGARDING MINI-TV SERVICE
IN THE SEWARD AREA
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has long been involved in providing
television to its residents, recognizing the educational, cultural, informa-
tional and entertainment value of the medium; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has been served by a Mini-TV station
licensed to Alaska Public Television Inc., which provides only non-commercial
programming; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has funding secured through the Alaska
Broadcasting Commission to add our community to the State of Alaska Satellite
Television Project which will provide programming from all networks;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, that the City of Seward is hereby prepared to assume the
responsibilities of becoming the licensee of one or more Mini-TV stations
to serve our area, and requests that Alaska Public Television Inc. voluntarily
transfer the control and ownership of the Mini-TV presently serving Seward
to the City of Seward.
