CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 94-051
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ACCEPTING THE RURAL COMMUNITY
FIRE PROTECTION GRANT AND APPROPRIATING THE GRANT FUNDS
WHEREAS, the city has applied for and received a $5,000 Rural Community Fire
Protection grant administered through the Alaska Division of Forestryj and
WHEREAS, the city's required matching contribution is available within the
existing FY 1994 Fire Department Budgetj and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used to purchase radios and uniform shirts as
specified in the request for grant fundsj and
WHEREAS, the city must accept the grant funds prior to May 1, 1994, and its is
in the public interest, therefore, to make an exception to the regular agenda format and
act on this resolution as an addition to the regular meeting agendaj
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Rural Community Fire Protection grant totalling $5,000 is hereby
ACCEPTED and the grant funds are appropriated to the Fire Department's Fiscal Year
1994 equipment line item number 5930.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the city
of Seward the 1994 RCFP Funds Condition Statement Acknowledgement, a copy of which
is attached and incorporated herein by reference.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
25th day of April, 1994.
