RESOLUTION 99-148
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT NOT-TO-EXCEED $41,000 WITH UNION ELECTRIC FOR
THE PURPOSE OF OBTAINING A THREE-PERSON LINE CREW AND
EQUIPMENT NECESSARY TO INSTALL UNDERGROUND ELECTRICAL
SERVICES IN THE SEWARD AREA.
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has numerous underground electrical services which need
to be installed prior to "Freeze-Up"; and
WHEREAS, our line crew is unable to complete all of this work prior to "freeze-up"; and
WHEREAS, Union Power has offered to provide a three-person line crew, including
equipment, at a cost of$2,900/day to install services; and,
WHEREAS, it is important to complete this underground electrical work prior to winter;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Union Power to
provide a three-person electrical crew for approximately $2,900/day for a total cost Not- To-Exceed
$41,000.
Section 2. Funding is to be from Account 501-5300-5390. Appropriate additional funds
in the amount of$41 ,000 from the Electric Enterprise Fund Retained Earnings Account 501-0000-
3050, to Electric Work Order Contracted Service Account Number 501-5300-5390.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 25th
day of October, 1999.
