RESOLUTION NO. 94-067
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR STREET
REPAIRS TO SUMMIT PAVING AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the city received four bids in response to its request for bids for street
improvements to overlay six streets including Madison, B Street, Fifth Street, Fourth Street
North, Fourth Street South and North and South Harbor Streets; and
WHEREAS, SUMMIT PAVING submitted the lowest bid for the entire project; and
WHEREAS, SUMMIT PAVING has been determined to be a responsible bidder and the
bid received was responsive to the city's request for bids; and
WHEREAS, funds totalling $100,000 are available from the FY 1994 capital budget for
street improvements; and
WHEREAS, the balance of the funding will be requested at a later date from the FY
1995 capital budget for street improvements;
NOW, mEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF mE
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The city manager is authorized to enter into a contract with SUMMIT
PAVING for street improvements in accordance with the bid documents for an amount not to
exceed $278,131.50 and to issue a notice to proceed with improvements to Madison Street.
Section 2. The sum of $100,000 is hereby appropriated from the Capital Acquisition
Fund Balance 103-??oo-3050, transferred to the Street Improvements Fund and authorized for
expenditure to Account No. 291-291O-XXXX.
Section 3. A Notice to Proceed with the remainder of the project is contingent upon
available funding from the FY 1995 budget and Council approval.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
23rd day of May, 1994.
