RESOLUTION NO. 94-071

OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING A CONTRACT FOR
SUBSTATION MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS TO EASTERN ELECTRIC
WHEREAS, a 1993 test of the substation reclosers and load-tap-changers by General
Electric revealed several problems which require correction; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to test the Lawing Substation recloser and substation relays;
and
WHEREAS, the city solicited proposals for substation repairs and maintenance; and
WHEREAS, three responses were received and the lowest responsive proposer was
Eastern Electric; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to award a contract to Eastern Electric without
full utilization of the city bid process;
WHEREAS, sufficient funding is available in the FY 1994 budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TIm CITY co~ca OF TIm
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The city manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Eastern
Electric to perform substation maintenance and repairs as identified by the Electric Department
for an amount not to exceed $20,370.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
23rd day of May, 1994.
