RESOLUTION NO. 94-072

OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ACCEYfING A GRANT FROM TIm STATE
OF ALASKA, DNR, DIVISIDN OF FORESTRY FOR TREE PLANTING
AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the city was awarded a 50 percent matching grant totalling $8,400 from the
State of Alaska, DNR, Division of Forestry for tree planting with $4,200 awarded from the State
and $4,200 contributed by the city over the next three years; and
WHEREAS, the grant was awarded in conjunction with the Small Business Association
(SBA) Tree Planting Program; and
WHEREAS, the funds will be used to purchase and plant twenty trees in Waterfront
Park to provide greenery, aesthetic improvements and wind protection;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TIm CITY co~ca OF TIm
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The SBA Tree Planting grant in the amount of $4,200 is hereby accepted,
the sum of $4,200 is hereby appropriated from the General Fund Fund balance, Account No.
101-3070 to the SBA Tree Planting Grant Revenue Account Number 292-2920-4680-0200 and
the amount of $8,400 is appropriated to the SBA Tree Planting Grant Expenditures Account
Number 292-2920-XXXX.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
23rd day of May, 1994.
