RESOLUTION NO. 94-075 SUBSTITUTE
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, RECLASSIFYING CERTAIN POLICE
DEPARTMENT POSITIONS
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 1995 city operating budget reflected the proposed
reclassification of certain Police Department positions;
WHEREAS, full justification for the proposed reclassifications was given to the
Council during the budget process; and
WHEREAS, there was no objection from the Council to the inclusion of the
reclassifications and the attendant increases in salary; and

WHEREAS, these reclassifications have been proposed to bring the salaries for
these positions in line with similar positions in other communities and at other
correctional institutions to make Seward more competitive in the job market and to stem
the flow of trained personnel from the Seward Police Department to other agencies;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect July 1, 1994.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
