CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 94-076
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
ALASKA MUNICIPAL LEAGUE JOINT INSURANCE ASSOCIATION
TO PROVIDE THE CITY'S ADDITIONAL INSURANCE COVERAGE NEEDS
WHEREAS, for the past ten years, the city of Seward has contracted with Willis
Corroon to provide insurance broker services to the city; and
WHEREAS, currently, the majority of the city's insurance coverage is carried by
the Alaska Municipal League Joint Insurance Association (AMI)JIA); and
WHEREAS, Willis Corroon has been used for the recently to place the city's
marine insurance and boiler and machinery insurance; and
WHEREAS, the city issued a Request for Proposals to provide risk management
and brokerage services in those areas not currently placed with AMI)JIA; and
WHEREAS, the proposal submitted by AMI)JIA was considered to be the most
desirable by the city review team;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with
the Alaska Municipal League Joint Insurance Association to provide the city's additional
insurance coverage need for a fee of $15,000 or commission on the policies provided,
whichever is less.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
13th day ofJune, 1994.
