RESOLUTION NO. 94-081
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
A VEHICLE FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WITHOUT
FULL UTILIZA nON OF CITY BID PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 1995 budget contains funds for a new vehicle for the
Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, area dealers have indicated that they anticipate a seven percent (7%)
increase in prices for 1995 models and an additional 7% increase in the price of vehicle
option packages; and
WHEREAS, the city solicited price quotes from three local Chevrolet dealers for
a vehicle similar to one purchased for the Fire Department in Fiscal Year 1994; and
WHEREAS, Tony's Chevrolet submitted the lowest price quote, and the figure
quoted is within the amount budgeted for the purchase of the vehicle; and
WHEREAS, the prices quoted will not be honored beyond June 14, 1994; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to waive formal bid procedures and accept
the verbal quote for the subject vehicle;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. It is in the public interest to waive formal bid procedures for the
purchase of a pick-up truck for the Fire Department and to accept the verbal quotes
received through a telephone survey of local vehicle dealers.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to issue a purchase order in an
amount not to exceed $22,520.00 to Tony's Chevrolet for the purchase of a 1994 Chevrolet
Pick-Up truck.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
13th day of June, 1994.
