CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 94-200
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR
FUNDING ASSISTANCE FROM THE STATE HISTORIC
PRESERVATION OFFICE TO COMPLETE THE SEWARD
HISTORIC PRESERVATION PLAN
WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of the Historic Preservation Commission to develop
a historic plan that will include provisions for identification, protection and interpretation of the
area's significant resources (SCC 2,30.425); and
WHEREAS, Phase I of the Seward Historic Preservation Plan was completed with the
assistance of funds from the State Historic Preservation Office in 1993; and
WHEREAS, the State Historic Preservation Office has matching grant funds available for
completion of the Seward Historic Preservation Plan, Phase II;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to make formal application to the State
Historic Preservation Office for funding assistance, provided that any funding assistance so
received shall be used for the purpose of completing the Seward Historic Preservation Plan.
Section 2. Be it further RESOLVED that the city share for the project will be derived
from the General Fund of the city and from in-kind contributions and donations.
Section 3. This resolution shall become a part of the formal application to the State
Historic Preservation Office.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 12th
day of December, 1994.
