RESOLUTION NO. 94-212
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ADOPTING THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
PROJECTS PRIORITY LIST FOR THE 1995 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
WHEREAS, the administration has provided the capital project priorities list for the 1995
State Legislative session; and
WHEREAS, it was determined that construction of a subsurface water collection system
or filtration system for surface water collected from Mt. Marathon for the City's domestic water
supply was the City's number one priority; and
WHEREAS, it was determined that construction of the SMIC North Breakwater and Dock
Complex was the City's second priority; and
WHEREAS, it was further determined that mechanical upgrades for Seward General
Hospital was the City's third priority; and
WHEREAS, maintenance of the Small Boat Harbor's float systems and acquisition of a
new site for the City's Youth Center are among the City's top priorities; and
WHEREAS, although the City remains committed to seeking funds for the construction
of a new hospital, a public safety building and a multi-purpose dock, it recognizes the fiscal
restraints which will be faced by the 1995 Legislature and has placed these items on its priority
list as a footnote in the event monies for such projects are made available; and
WHEREAS, certain other projects are considered necessary for the health and safety,
community development and economic development of the community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The attached list of capital improvement projects, incorporated herein by
reference, is hereby declared to be the official Capital Improvement Projects priority list for the
City of Seward for the 1995 Legislative Session.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 12th
day of December, 1994.
