RESOLUTION NO. 95-016
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING THE CONTRACT WITH
AFOGNAK LOGGING FOR SNOW REMOVAL AND SANDING SERVICES
BY INCREASING THE CONTRACT AMOUNT AND
APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, Afognak Logging was awarded a contract for snow removal and sanding
services for not to exceed $20,000 for Nash Road and for not to exceed $8,000 for Lowell Point
Road; and
WHEREAS, the heavy snowfall combined with wet, icy conditions and several avalanches
on Lowell Point Road has required services beyond the budgeted amount for the winter season;
and
WHEREAS, there are no funds in the Street Department budget to cover the additional
contract costs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to amend the contract with Afognak
Logging for an amount not to exceed $27,884.61 for Nash Road and for an amount not to exceed
$8,763.50 for Lowell Point Road.
Section 2. An amount totalling $8,648.11 is hereby appropriated from the General Fund
Fund Balance, Account No. 101-3050 to the Street, Snow, and Ice Control, Contract Services
Account No. 101-1314-5390-0214.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 27th
day of February, 1995.
