RESOLUTION NO. 95-021
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE
MINI-GRANT PROGRAM TO ASSIST IN THE PROMOTION AND
MARKETING OF THE CITY AND ITS PORT
WHEREAS, the Seward community recognizes the need to actively market and promote
the City of Seward, its port facilities and infrastructure, its assets and opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the community consensus steers the city toward a cooperative agreement
with private enterprise to market and promote the City/Port of Seward; and
WHEREAS, full-color community profile brochures are an essential tool in marketing
and promotional activities; and
WHEREAS, city brochures were last produced in 1987 and the few remaining brochures
inaccurately depict the current status of the community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward port administration wishes to provide new, accurate full-
color community profile brochures and related marketing media for use in the community; and
WHEREAS, the administration is an applicant for a grant in the amount of $40,000 from
the Alaska Department of Community and Regional Affairs under the Mini-Grant program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for an economic development
project grant from the Alaska Department of Community and Regional Affairs for city and port
marketing items.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate and execute any and all
documents required for granting and managing funds on behalf of the City of Seward, Alaska.
Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate and execute subsequent
amendments to said grant agreement to provide for adjustments to the project within the scope
of services or tasks, based upon the needs of the project.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
