RESOLUTION NO. 95-024
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ESTABLISHING A SPECIAL REVENUE
ACCOUNT, APPROPRIATING FUNDS AND ADJUSTING THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT BUDGET TO FACILITATE
THE COMPLETION OF PHASE II OF THE SEWARD HISTORIC
PRESERVATION PLAN
WHEREAS, SCC 92.30.425 states that it is the responsibility of the Historic Preservation
Commission to develop a historic Preservation plan that will include provisions for the
identification, protection and interpretation of the area's significant resources; and
WHEREAS, the first phase of the Seward Historic Preservation Plan was completed in
1993 with the assistance of federal funds from the Alaska Department of Natural Resources,
Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation, State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO); and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 94-200 authorized the City Administration to apply for Fiscal
Year 1995 historic Preservation grant funds to complete Phase II of the Preservation Plan; and

WHEREAS, the City has been awarded a matching grant totalling $7,503 from SHPO
for completion of Phase II of the Seward Historic Preservation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the matching funds will be provided through in-kind contributions and
donations, the Community Development Department Budget and the General Fund Fund Balance
Account; and
WHEREAS, because the grant funds are received as a reimbursement of completed work,
there is a need to appropriate funds to match the grant funds; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to establish a special revenue account to preclude
the lapsing of funds at the end of the fiscal year;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Seward Historic Preservation Plan Special Revenue Fund No. 144-1441
is hereby established with the following budget:

RESOLUTION NO. 95-024
Section 2. The sum of $2,545 is hereby appropriated from the General Fund Fund
Balance Account No. 101-0000-3070-0144 to Special Revenue Fund No. 144-0000-3070-0000.
Section 3. The sum of $6,366.18 is hereby appropriated from State Grant Revenues
Account No. 144-1441-4680-0200.
Section 4. The Community Development Department budget is hereby amended as
follows:

Section 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
