RESOLUTION NO. 95-029
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, INCREASING CAMPGROUND REVE ES
IN THE AMOUNT OF $21,300 AND APPROPRIATING FU S
TO PURCHASE A SEWAGE PUMPER UNIT WITHOUT ULL
UTILIZATION OF CITY BID PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, currently, the City of Seward contracts with private vendor to provide
sewage disposal services in the City campgrounds at a cost of $ ,000 annually; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of a sewage pumper unit w Id enable the City to provide this
service in house and would result in an estimated cost sav. gs of $11,000 per year; and
WHEREAS, the City anticipates increased reve es in campground fees to offset the cost
of purchasing the sewage pumper unit; and
WHEREAS, a limited number of compani provide sewage pumper units to Alaska; and
WHEREAS, Lely Pacific, Inc., can pr ide a quality unit within budgeted funds and has
been recommended by both the Harbor De ment and the Public Works Department; and
WHEREAS, in order to assure livery of the pumper unit prior to the start of the next
fiscal year, it is in the public interest 0 waive normal bid procedures and authorize the City
Manager to purchase the unit from ely Pacific, Inc.;
NOW, THEREFORE, B IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, th :
Section 1. Genera und Campground Revenues Account No. 101-0000-4470-0120 is
hereby increased in the ount of $20,000, General Fund Campground Revenues (Shower Fees)
Account No. 101-0000 470-0080 is hereby established in the amount of $1,300, and the Parks
and Recreation Dep ment Park Maintenance Budget is hereby increased by appropriating the
following amounts:

RESOLUTION NO. 95-029
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to issue a purchase order not to exceed
$14,300 to Lely Pacific, Inc., for purchase of a sewage pumper unit without full utilization of
City bid procedures.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 10th
day of April, 1995.
