RESOLUTION NO. 94-137
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO.1
TO THE SUMMIT PAVING CONTRACT
WHEREAS, the original contract awarded to Summit Paving included patching
bad sections of pavement and overlaying selected streets with 1-1/2 inches of asphalt; and
WHEREAS, it has become apparent that the city did not allow for enough
patching in the contract and that it will be less expensive to recondition the streets rather
than patch and overlay; and
WHEREAS, the administration also wishes to expand the area to be paved from
just the center section of most streets to the entire road surface; and
WHEREAS, these changes to the contract will cost an additional $72,082; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available in the paving project account to cover
this change order;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Change Order No.1 to the Summit Paving Contract for street paving,
increasing the scope of the contract and increasing the total cost of the contract in the
amount of $72,082 is hereby approved.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
25th day of July, 1994.
