RESOLUTION NO. 94-148
A RESOLUTION OF TIm CITY COUNca OF TIm CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING PAYMENT TO HALKIN
SERVICES, INC., FOR INSPECTION OF TIm SYNCROLIFT CABLES
WHEREAS, as part of the annual inspection for the syncrolift, Halkin Services, Inc.,
was asked to nagnograph the cables as required by Uoyds Register of Shipping in order to
maintain class rating of the machine; and
WHEREAS, past costs for similar inspections have been under the $10,000 authorized
purchase order limit and have not required Council approval; and
WHEREAS, beginning in January 1994, Halldn Services, Inc., recognized the need to
send an additional crew member to all Syncrolift inspections; and
WHEREAS, as a result of this change in the contractor's manner of conducting the
inspection, this year's inspection services exceeded the $10,000 purchase order limit, and
Council approval is required to pay the contractor; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the harbor budget to cover the cost ofthe inspection;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TIm CITY COUNCa OF TIm
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to issue payment to Halldn Services, Inc.,
in the amount of $11,227.50 for inspection of the Syncrolift cables as required by Uoyds
Register of Shipping.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 8th
day of August, 1994.
