OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ACCEPTING GRANT FUNDS FROM TIm
STATE OF ALASKA, CAPITAL MATCHING GRANT PROJECTS PROGRAM
FOR TIm PURCHASE OF A RESCUE/EMERGENCY RESPONSE VEHICLE
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska awarded two capital matching grants to the City of
Seward for projects submitted under the Capital Project Matching Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, one of the projects approved for partial funding is the purchase of a
rescue/emergency response vehicle; and
WHEREAS, acquisition of the response vehicle will replace the existing vehicle which
has deficiencies in transport and operational capabilities; and
WHEREAS, the state is providing a total of $43,089.42 which is approximately half of
the amount needed to purchase an emergency response vehicle, and the city share, totalling
$7,904.00, will come from General Fund resources budgeted in the Capital Acquisition Fund
for Fiscal Year 1996; and
WHEREAS, the additional needed funding will be requested in the next legislative
request package or through a similar capital matching grant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TIm CITY co~ca OF TIm
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Funds totalling $43,089.42 are hereby accepted from the state as partial
funding for the purchase of a rescue/emergency response vehicle and the city share, totalling
$7,904.00, will come from General Fund resources budgeted in the Capital Acquisition Fund
for Fiscal Year 1996.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
22nd day of August, 1994.
