RESOLUTION 99-077
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE STATE HIGHWAY
SAFETY PLANNING AGENCY AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO THE
BIKE SAFETY '99 GRANT FUND
WHEREAS, for the past three years, Seward Parks and Recreation has co-sponsored a
successful Bike Safety/Bike Rodeo with funds from a State of Alaska Highway Safety Planning
Agency; and
WHEREAS, the 1999 Strategic Plan lists "Promote a safe community" as a major element
of our community vision;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. A grant of$750 is accepted from the State of Alaska Department of Public Safety,
Highway Safety Planning Agency.
Section 2. A total of$I,IOO is appropriated to Bike Safety '99 Grant Fund, Account 200-
2002-4680-0200; $350 from Parks and Recreation, Sports and Recreation, Account 10 1-1420c5440
and $750 from Bicycle Safety '99 Grant Revenue, Account 200-2002-4680-0200.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 14 day
ofJune, 1999.
