RESOLUTION NO. 94-161

OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING TIm PURCHASE OF IDGH-MAST
POLES AND LIGHTING FOR TIm EAST SIDE OF TIm SMALL
BOAT HARBOR WITHOUT FULL UTILIZATION OF CITY BID PROCEDURES
AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the harbor has been working with the engineering department to develop
a lighting plan for the small boat harbor area; and
WHEREAS, adequate lighting in the harbor is necessary for public safety and security;
and
WHEREAS, the high-mast light pole requested is one of three proposed to illuminate
the harbor basin and adjacent uplands; and
WHEREAS, there is no lighting on the east side of the harbor except for two small lights
on the grid, and lighting of the east side is considered to be the highest priority need; and
WHEREAS, Electrical Distributors, Inc. was the only respondent to a request for price
quotes for the high-mast pole and lights; and
WHEREAS, EDI was the supplier of the other high-mast lights located at the Marine
Industrial Center and the North Dock; and
WHEREAS, funding is available in the FY95 Harbor Entetprise Fund capital budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY co~ca OF TIm
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to issue a purchase order to Electrical
Distributors, Inc., in the amount of $20,940.00 for the purchase of a high mast pole and lights.
Section 2. The amount of $20,940.00 is hereby appropriated from the Harbor Fund
retained earnings Account No. 401-3070 to the Harbor Fund Small Boat Harbor Equipment
Account No. 401-4110-5930.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
22nd day of August, 1994.
