RESOLUTION 99-078
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE DISCHARGE OF FIREWORKS BY THE
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE DURING THE 1999 INDEPENDENCE DAY
CELEBRATION
WHEREAS, Seward City Code 10.10.040 prohibits the discharge of fireworks in Seward
unless specifically approved by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City has traditionally allowed the Chamber of Commerce to provide a
fireworks display within the City in conjunction with its Fourth of July celebration;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. As a part of its Fourth of July Celebration, the Seward Chamber of Commerce
is authorized to discharge fireworks within the City at a time and place which has received the prior
approval of the City Fire Chief.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 14 day
ofJune, 1999.
