CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 96-002
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER TO MARATHON FUEL SERVICE
FOR THE PURCHASE OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS
WHEREAS, the City properly advertised for competitive bids to provide various petroleum
products to the City for the period January 1, 1996, through December 31, 1996, with an option to
renew the contract for two additional years; and
WHEREAS, Marathon Fuel Service submitted the only bid, and this bid appears to be
responsive to the request for bids; and
WHEREAS, the bid price of $193,470.03 is based on estimated quantities needed by the
City in the upcoming year, however, monthly invoices to the contractor will be based on actual
quantities received;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to issue a purchase order not to exceed
$193,470.03 to Marathon Fuel to provide petroleum products to the City of Seward for the period
January 1, 1996, through December 31, 1996.
Section 2. This agreement between the City and Marathon Fuel may be renewed for two
additional one-year increments by resolution of the City Council.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 8th day
of January, 1996.
