RESOLUTION NO. 96-016
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
UTILITY POLES FROM POTELCOM SUPPLY WITHOUT FULL
UTILIZATION OF CITY BID PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, the Electric Department requested price quotes for specialized utility poles
meeting REA specifications and drilling in order to add to the depleted pole inventory; and
WHEREAS, ofthe five quotes received, three quotes were complete and responsive; and
WHEREAS, the quotes were requested without full utilization of the city bid procedures
because the poles are a specialty item that must meet certain REA specifications; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive supplier was Pote1com Supply;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The city manager is hereby authorized to issue a purchase order to Potelcom
Supply for an amount not to exceed $41,197.00 for the purchase of utility poles.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 12th day
of February, 1996.
