CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 96-019
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ESTABLISHING THE PARKING
REVENUE ENTERPRISE FUND
WHEREAS, with the adoption of Resolution No 96-018, the City Council has provided for
paid parking in the Small Boat Harbor; and
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that paid parking lots will be established in the downtown area
within the next few years; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to establish a parking revenue enterprise fund to track
revenues from paid parking as well as the expense of providing and maintaining public parking
throughout the City; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Council to assure that any monies generated from one
section of the city shall be designated for use within that particular section of the city;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. There is hereby established a Parking Revenue Enterprise Fund for the receipt of
revenues generated on public parking lots or through any future parking assessment program and
from the enforcement of parking regulations. Expenditures related to the acquisition, maintenance
and management of public parking shall be accounted for in this fund.
Section 2. Be it further resolved that it is the intent of Council to budget each fiscal year no
more than 40% of all parking revenues generated in anyone geographic area ofthe City, i.e., the
Boat Harbor or the Downtown Business District, to be expended for the acquisition and maintenance
of public parking areas in other geographic areas ofthe city.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.

of February, 1996.
