RESOLUTION NO. 96-020
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO A
PURCHASE ORDER ISSUED TO W ALASKA INTERIORS FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF THE COUNCIL DAIS AND AMENDING THE
PROJECT BUDGET TO PROVIDE FOR ADDITIONAL WORK TO
BE COMPLETED IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS
WHEREAS, the City Council budgeted $25,000 to remodel the council chambers and dais;
and
WHEREAS, most ofthe remodeling has been completed including installation of carpet and
a new sound system, construction of the dais and the purchase of new chairs and a conference
telephone; and
WHEREAS, several additional projects will complete the remodel including construction of
a locked storage cabinet, shelving for agenda items, resurfacing of the council chamber doors and
podium and installation of a keyboard shelf to accommodate the laptop computer; and
WHEREAS, Walaska Interiors has completed the basic remodeling at a cost of$12,673.68
which is in excess of the purchase order total of $10,000 and;
WHEREAS, the cost of completing the additional projects is $2,920.00; and
WHEREAS, the entire cost of the project, including the purchase and installation of
electronic equipment, totals $26,038.22; and
WHEREAS, the transfer of $1,050 from the Mayor/Council Supplies Line Item to the
Remodel Project Account will provide additional funds to complete the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Change Order No.1 to the purchase order issued to Walaska Interiors for remodel
of the Council Chambers in the amount of$2,673.68 is hereby approved.
Section 2. Change Order NO.2 to the purchase order issued to Walaska Interiors for
additional work in the council chambers in the amount of $2920.00 is hereby approved.

Section 3. The Council Chambers Remodel Project is hereby amended by transferring the
sum of $1,050.00 from Mayor and Council supplies Account No. 101-1110-5410 to the Council
Chambers Remodel Project Account No. 309-3090-XXXX for a total project cost of$26,038.22.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 12th day
of February, 1996.
