CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 96-046
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING THE PURCHASE CONTRACT
FOR THE PUMPER TRUCK AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the City Council previously approved the purchase of rescue vehicles for the
fire department for an amount not to exceed $396,455.40; and
WHEREAS, during a review of the design by the Fire Chief and the design engineers, it was
determined that several modifications were needed to better utilize the available space, provide better
lighting, improve the use, safety and efficiency and provide better access; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to increase the contract amount by $15,865.00; and
WHEREAS, funding is available within the FY1996 budget under the rental payment
account, and the volunteer firefighters have raised $6,000 to partially offset the increase;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Change Order No.1 to the contract with KME is hereby amended by increasing
the amount by $15,865.00 for a total contract amount of$4l2,320.00.
Section 2. A total amount of $9,865 is hereby appropriated from the Fire Department
Vehicle Rental Account No. 101-1220-5330 and a residual equity transfer for the same amount is
hereby appropriated from the General Fund Residual Equity Transfers-Out Account No. 101-0000-
3075-0102 to the Motor Pool Fund Residual Equity Transfers-In Account No. 102-0000-3075-0000.
The donation from the Seward Volunteer Fire Department in an amount of $6,000 is hereby
appropriated to the Motor Pool Special Revenue Account No.1 02-1 020-4680-0900.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 8th day
of April, 1996.
