CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 96-050
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING A TOWING CONTRACT
BETWEEN THE CITY AND MIKE'S TOWING TO PROVIDE TOWING
OF IMPOUNDED VEHICLES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND
FOR STORAGE OF IMPOUNDED VEHICLES
WHEREAS, a request for proposals to provided towing services and storage for vehicles
impounded by the Police Department was properly advertised; and
WHEREAS, only one proposal was received in response to the request for proposals; and
WHEREAS, the rates proposed by the sole bidder, Mike Arledge, dba Mike's Towing, are
acceptable, and the proposed impound storage yard is located outside of the City, out of sight of the
Seward Highway traffic and is close enough to the service area to be convenient; and
WHEREAS, the proposer has submitted proof of the required insurance as set forth in the
proposal documents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with
Mike Arledge, dba Mike's Towing, for towing and storage of vehicles impounded by the Seward
Police Department as set forth in the request for proposals issued by the City.
Section 2. A copy of the contract is attached and incorporated herein by reference
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 22nd
day of April, 1996.
