CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 99-084
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMEND-
MENT NO. 4 TO THE CONTRACT FOR COMPUTER SERVICES BE-
TWEEN THE CITY OF SEWARD AND MICHAEL W. MEEKS D.B.A.
MWM CONSULTING
WHEREAS, on February 15, 1995, the City entered into a professional services contract
with Michael W. Meeks, d.b.a. MWM Consulting, (the Contractor) to provide computer consulting
services; and
WHEREAS, the contract was for one year, with four one year extensions, upon approval by
the City and the Contractor; and
WHEREAS, the current contract has a compensation rate as follows:
$3,333.33 per month, not to exceed $40,000 per year;
Perform the scope of services at no less than an average of 30 hours per week;
More than an average of 40 hours per week will be compensated at $20.00 per
hour only upon receiving written approval in advance from the Finance Director
or his designee; and
WHEREAS, approval is requested for a fourth extension of the current contract with a
revision to the compensation rate to $30.00 per hour; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor will continue to provide a high level of response and service by
continuing to make the City a priority among his clientele, making regular contacts with computer
system users, and will continue to respond quickly to emergency needs; and
WHEREAS, the need for more computer consulting services continues to increase as the
City adds computer systems and as the technology continues to change at a very fast pace; and
WHEREAS, funding for six months of the contract has been provided for in the six-month
budget starting July 1, 1999.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:

Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute contract Amendment No.4,
hereby attached, with the Contractor.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe city of Seward, Alaska, this 28 day
ofJune, 1999.
