CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 96-075
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
A CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH MICHAEL W. MEEKS, DBA
MWM CONSULTING, FOR PROFESSIONAL COMPUTER
CONSULTING SERVICES THROUGH JUNE 30, 1997
WHEREAS, on February 15, 1995, the City entered into a professional services contract
with Michael W. Meeks, dba MWM Consulting, (the Contractor) to provide computer consulting
services to the City through June 30, 1996; and
WHEREAS, this contract provides for four one-year extensions upon approval of the City
and the Contractor; and
WHEREAS, the City and the Contractor have agreed to a one-year extension of the contract
with two modifications based on the prior year's contract experience; and
WHEREAS, the first modification changes the amount of compensation paid to the Contract
from a minimum of $2,420 per month to a minimum of $600 per month plus a declining hourly rate
for actual work performed in excess often hours per month; and
WHEREAS, the second modification deletes the requirement that the Contractor provide
professional liability insurance; and
WHEREAS, based on the prior year's experience, these contract modifications will result
in a substantial cost savings to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a new contract with MWM
Consulting, extending the expiration date of the contract until June 30, 1997, and including the
modifications as set forth herein.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 10th
day of June, 1996.
