CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 96-089
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ACCEPTING A $7,000 ALASKA PUBLIC
LIBRARY ASSISTANCE GRANT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the Seward Community Library applies annually for Alaska Public Library
Assistance Grant funds; and
WHEREAS, the total amount of these grant funds available to the City of Seward for Fiscal
Year 1997 is $7,000; and
WHEREAS, the City under the terms of the grant, the City must provide $5,000 in matching
funds; and
WHEREAS, these matching funds have been designated in the FY 1997 Library Budget as
staff salaries; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to accept the State grant funds and to appropriate
them for the uses set forth below;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. A Public Library Assistance Grant from the Alaska State Library in the amount
of $7,000 is hereby accepted by the City of Seward on behalf of the Seward Community Library.
Section 2. The sum of $7,000 is hereby appropriated from the grant accepted above to the
FY 1997 Library Budget as follows:
